Jennifer Williams

Director

The Dundalk Star Spangled Chorus is thrilled to introduce our Director, Jennifer Williams! Jen began singing at the age of 16, and has been a part of the Sweet Adelines International organization ever since. She has been a member of 8 registered quartets and 5 choruses in 3 different regions. She is currently a member of Harbor City Music Company, holding a 6th Place International Medal and 1st Place Regional Medal. In 1999, Jen set her sights on directing and was certified as a director in Sweet Adelines International. She then became a Front-Line Director of Harmony Shores Chorus of Region 9 (formerly Region 23).

Her outstanding efforts were soon recognized, as she was awarded the title of “Novice Director” in 2001. Then, in 2009, Jen led Harmony Shores Chorus to their title of Most Improved Chorus in 2009 and 2nd Place Small Chorus in 2010. After taking some time off from directing, Jen applied for her position with the Dundalk Sweet Adelines, and was named Director of the Star Spangled Chorus in May 2016!

Beverly Bruening

Associate Director & President

Bev Bruening joined the Dundalk Star Spangled Chorus in the fall of 2003. She is a retired music teacher who taught 39 years in the Dundalk area, working with the many award winning choruses from Patapsco High and Center for the Arts. Ms. Bruening has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from West Chester University in Pennsylvania, and received her Masters from Loyola in counseling.

Bev is now a certified director with the Sweet Adelines International & enjoys coaching several Young Women in

Harmony youth quartets. While her musical involvement keeps her busy, she still has found time to become a “foster mom” for rescued schnauzers (in addition to the 4 she owns!).

Bev’s talents have proved to be a major asset to the chorus. Through her connections at Patapsco High School, she has helped recruit a number of young voices into the chorus! In addition to her roles as Associate Director & Chorus President, she also serves as a Bass Section Leader on the Music Team.
